A MESSAGE FROM A NSFW BLOG FOR THE @staff . REBLOG
Dear staff,
I’m deeply disappointed with the decision you took last week about forbidding any kind of NSFW/adult content in the site.
I’ve always loved tumblr, been using it since 7 years ago (when I turned 18, mainly for the NSFW content). I used my blog as best as I could, following the guidelines, reporting some blogs who didn’t…
I don’t understand why you want to ban at a stroke a very big and important part of your users. Your goal is the same as mine, making a better site, getting rid of the pedophiles, racists, homophobic, bots…
As a NSFW blog I’m willing to propose you some changes that both, users and staff, can make in order to improve this site. For example:
- Reporting EVERY SINGLE blog that doesn’t follow the guidelines (bots, pedophilic content, disrespectful…)
- Tagging my posts using the terms that you want, so you can filter the content better for the blogs that are using safe mode. For example: #nsfw, #explicit, #adult…
- Giving you feedback about the site, things that could be changed in order to keep a better and safer Tumblr.
- Promoting the site like I’ve always did, recommending it to friends, sharing it…
- Last but not least, enjoying the site as much as I’ve been doing for 7 years.
I joined Tumblr cause this is (or was) a place for everyone, NSFW or not, for posting, reblogging, creating and living all kinds of content. A site with truly free speech.
I have a last suggestion for you:
If you keep the idea of banning the NSFW community, you should change the site name name to TOMBLR, cause I promise you this site will slowly die until it disappears.
Yours sincerely,
A NSFW blog that loves Tumblr and really wants you to change your mind.
